THE WORLD WILL BURN

Bringing a fresh perspective to the world of heavy music, The World Will Burn was founded in 2015 as an alternative to onslaught of metal bands that have proliferated in the past decade.  Sensing that fans wanted modern music with key elements found in classic hard music of the past, TWWB released their debut album “Severity” in January of 2016.  The album gained significant exposure and was highly regarded by fans and critics alike.  “Severity” soon rose to #1 on Amazon’s Hot Alternative Metal Download chart had a #1 single on the same chart, with 2 other songs reaching the top 50.
In 2017 The World Will Burn released their sophomore album, “RuiNation”.  This album continued the same formula of success found in their debut release, but added significant texture and more experimentation the band became known for.  A better album across the board, “RuiNation” promises to bring an entirely new audience into the following.
Featuring former BRIDE front man Dale Thompson, TWWB contains gritty, powerful vocals fans have come to know through his past 12 studio albums and live shows around the world.  Joining Thompson is Alan Zaring, a new comer to the genre, who delivers intensity, creativity, and overwhelmingly catchy hooks to the music.  The World Will Burn focuses on raw emotion, and we welcome you to experience a new force in the world of heavy music.

Jack Kamionko cast for the role of Shamsiel – Seven Gates Where Angels Fall.

Jack Kamionko has taken on the role of Shamsiel. Jack has a great range of voices and tones that are enhanced by his amazing talent. He gives Shamsiel that vampire straight out of the Netflix Castlevania anime feel. Which by the way, I loved that anime and cannot wait for the second season.

Jack is new to the voice acting arena, but has a great array of demo reels that prove he has the talent and skill to go anywhere in the industry. The best way to see for yourself is to head over to his you tube channel and take a listen.

Production Update #2 – Seven Gates – Where Angels Fall.

Production update # 2 is here.

screenshot2update

One of the purposes of the updates, besides letting everyone know the state of the project, is to highlight the process and hopefully help others working on the same type of project.  Forward progress, that’s my focus for this update. One of the first things that I decided needed to be a priority was forward progress. Each day something would be accomplished a step taken and something new learned.

This week I worked on the first scene of the episode as well as opening dialogues. One of the first problems or hurdles that needed to be addressed was overloading the video memory.  I knew I would have this problem and when it happened I knew what needed to be done. Reducing the polygons, and items in the scene etc was the stock answer. The problem for me was I needed everything, there was no way around the issue, beyond going out and buying more hardware, which I wasn’t able to to do at the moment.  I eventually was able to work through it by shooting the scene in small segments based on camera shots. I know this doesnt seem like a huge deal, and it wasnt really, but it did highlight for me the need to think around the challenge and come up with a way to still accomplish the goal.

So I have one more cast member to announce in the next few days and the cast will be all set. Several have already sent in the final takes of the dialogue and every one of them are awesome. I just hope that the project and final product does the actors justice, their talents are amazing.

This update comes with a special bonus. The animation testing of the shifter demon and his shifting ability.  The clip is short and meant only to show the animation of the shifting and how it will be used. It’s not a final shot as of yet,  effects and post work are not completed.

Hunter Mize has been cast for the role of Malik – Seven gates – where angels fall

Hunter Mize  has been cast as Malik for Seven Gates – Where Angels Fall.

Malik was one of the hardest characters to cast for me. Everyone’s talent was amazing and they all brought great presence to the character, I was faced with a tough task. In the end Hunter’s audition of Malik was amazing and he had given Malik a sense of reserved presence that I didn’t even realize I wanted in the character.

Hunter Mize, is a 23  year old from Mississippi. He doesnt currently have a promotional photo for me to post so, imagine him however you want to.

In Hunter’s own words:

“My name’s Hunter Mize, I’m a voice actor. I took theatre classes at the University of Mississippi. I’m also a part of the group StarForce Media on Youtube, where I act in dubs of Slightly Damned, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IDW,  and the IDW Transformers Audiodrama.

I’m also in an animated project that I can’t give much details about. You can look up Dagon: Troll World Chronicles on Facebook, the film’s not done yet though. Thank You!”

The following links are his demo reels and current voice acting productions.

LoriLee Holloway cast as Lilith for Seven Gates Where angels fall.

Another great talent has been cast. LoriLee Holloway has been cast as Lilith. As the final cast members are being cast I find that each cast member has given the characters a new perspective that has pushed me to make changes to the characters and their animations. That I believe is a vital part to the process. The voice acting determines the character not me. Lilith was a tough character for me to cast because I always had a specific vision for her one that Lorilee  walked right into. She gave Lilith that subtle softness yet strong voice that the character needed.

James Burton cast as Kain for Seven Gates where angels fall.

James Burton ( Not the film maker James Burton) has been cast for the role of Kain. James had a great approach to Kain, coupled with amazing talent. Kain is a mysterious character at the start. James had brought that air of mystery and mystique to the character with chilling accuracy. Kain’s personality is hard to pin down but James was able to bring Kain to life with ease.

kaincastpromo1jamesburton

To be blunt, James Burton is not a terribly interesting person. You would be less likely to find him inspiring crowds, helping humanity, or bursting into flaming houses to save children, and more likely to find him living under a rock in the middle of a corn field, which is essentially where he really lives.

During the three and a quarter minutes a day James experiences the sun on his face, he contemplates what brought him to this point in life. Born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, James gradually began developing a southern accent before moving north to Indiana, where people pretend to have southern accents but refer to things like soda as “pop.” While his accent reverted to neutral-American, he never forgot the hills, mountains, forests, and creeks of Georgia, which inspired him to explore, hone his imagination, and generally not act like a grown man.

As the years passed, James began to fall in love with the power of the voice and how it can take listeners (and the speaker) to new worlds and emotions. Life, after all, becomes more fun when you can look forward to exploring a ruined temple or solving an age-old mystery after work. James began to hone his vocal talents and get involved with acting, studying the craft so he could be anything from a daring adventurer to a wise old man to a vengeful demon. Under tutelage of industry veterans from Edge Studio, James grew.

James is now more than happy to narrate worlds of his own as a voice actor specializing in audiobooks and characters. Having found the greatest outlet for his fantasy drive (short of leaping around in public with a sword and cape and probably getting arrested within minutes), James may live under a rock, but he has an imagination, and he knows how to use it.

James enjoys reading, writing, learning foreign languages, the nerdy side of things like video games and TV shows, and martial arts, of which he holds a black belt in Shoto-Jitsu. He was homeschooled his entire educational life and has occasionally done interesting things, like helping to carry an injured woman out of a jungle while their ship was about to unknowingly leave them stranded on an island, or waking up to find a gun pointed at him while house-sitting on a farm during the worst period of the 2013 Winter. (He sort of wishes he was joking, but he is not.) If prompted, perhaps he will even embellish on these rare departures from dwelling among corn and soybeans

Production update – Seven Gates – Where Angels fall.

Casting is almost completed, and several announcements will be coming shortly for the final casting roles. I have a lot of updates and material to compile, but will post the final actors/actresses and their roles within the next few days.

The soundtrack search is now in full swing. Looking at different options for music. If possible I want the soundtrack to be a showcase and feature source for the bands and artists that are willing to contribute. That process has just started and may take a bit more time. There are many online sources for stock music available, but original songs by great bands would just be awesome in my mind. We will see though on this front. Being flexible and adapting is the key. I want this project to show others the process and even the do’s and don’ts as well ( many of the dont’s may be the case – 🙂 )

Opening sequence has been created. Next will be editing, sounds and music. Production of the first scene is well under way.  Location creation and environments have been ongoing.  When creating an animation the world building is as much part of the process as is the story. The set and stage create the atmosphere and drive the story just as much as the action and dialogue. The opening sequence is the portion before the title screen appears, in this instance. If anyone has watched the TV show supernatural, its the same as the beginning of each episode before the title flashes. I personally like that approach to creating episodes.

The following images are some screenshots from creation process with in Iclone 7. Some rendered some are not.  Iclone is a real time rendering software and much of what you see can or will be what you get, though during animation creation its best to lower the quality to fine tune. Which is what I do personally, to speed up the software’s response. When I use the term render, I am referring to generation of the final images with all lighting effects and higher quality images. ( for those unfamiliar with the term).

Sarah Mitchell has been cast to voice Catherine in Seven Gates Where angels fall.

Sarah Mitchell has been cast for the role of Catherine, the British team leader for the order of the isle. The British counterpart to Malik. Catherine was suppose to be appearing in episode 2. I was actually having a bit of trouble pinning down her character and the role. However, after hearing Sarah’s auditions Catherine was suddenly British and appearing in episode 1.  Sarah’s wonderful talent actually helped shape the first episode and give life to a character I was struggling with.

Casting for Seven Gates underway

I started casting this week and the first role has been cast. Several others to follow soon.

Since the casting request went out for the project I have had the pleasure of auditioning some of the best voice talent I have heard. It was an experience for me, I was overwhelmed by the amazing talent and volume of those interested in being a part of the project.  I want to do as much as I can for those that have been cast in the roles by featuring them here and their amazing talent. You will find complete actor bios and links to their pages.

I am humbled to work with these great actors and actresses.

Alyssa Kay – Starring as Nikki-

Alyssa Kay1

Alyssa nailed Nikki’s voice and attitude on the first try. It was exactly as I pictured in my head as I wrote her lines and character. She has an amazing talent. Check the link above her profile for her bio and website details.

Thanks Alyssa ! You have given life to Nikki in an amazing way!

Casting is still under way and I have lots more to listen to and cast. After this first round I’ll still be contacting everyone for additional roles in upcoming episodes. Filling the main spots that I need now and wish I had hundreds of more characters to cast!

Children of Helios

Childrenofheliospromo1

“Our world was born upon the ashes of the old world.

We don’t tell our children stories of monsters under their beds.

We don’t tell our elders that the monsters are just in their heads.

Our monsters are real.

Our demons rise when the darkness falls.

We do not look to the past in reverence and awe.

The old ways are dead, as is the old world itself.

Superstitions and religion no longer divide us, for we now know the truth.

Our inheritance is chaos and war.

A new world born  through fire and ash.

Our legacy will be one of survival  and strength.

We are the children of Helios.”

Children of Helios is the newest anime project I am working on. Ok, one of the newest projects, I always have several going at once. I’ve never really worked on an anime or manga style story before. It will be a new experience that’s for sure. I plan on sharing as much of the experience as I can with you. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a comic or animation as of yet. I may try both and see where it all leads to in the end.
